Condition Definitions
Every
effort is made to describe our stock as accurately as possible. First we
use the Antiquarian Bookman's Weekly criteria to describe the
condition of our books and dust jackets, then we note further any
faults/defects. A digital photograph of any book will be sent by email
upon request. If any book received is not as described, we will gladly
refund the cost of the book, provided we are notified within seven (7)
days of receipt and the book is returned to us in the same condition it
was when despatched by us.
As
New
When
the book is in the same immaculate condition in which it was published.
Fine
Approaches
the condition of As New but without being crisp. There must also be no
defects.
Very
Good
A
used book that shows some small signs of wear - but no tears - on either
binding or paper.
Good
The
average used and worn book that has all pages or leaves present.
Fair
A
worn book that has complete text pages (including those with maps or
plates) but may lack endpapers, half-title page, etc. (which must be
noted). Binding, jacket (if any), etc may also be worn.
